Cuckoos, Kingfishers, and Trogons

About the cuckoos

There are six species of this order that are found in the US.

About the kingfishers

Throughout the US there is only one species of kingfisher, the Belted Kingfisher, but in the southern parts of Texas and Arizona an observent birder could also find the Green Kingfisher and the Ringed Kingfisher. All three birds are found in the same family, Alcedinidae.

This is a largely tropical group of birds and are only found in the very southern part of southeast Arizona.
