Barred Owl
(Strix varia)
Photographed in Woodland Zoo, Seattle Washington and in Corkscrew Swamp in Florida, by Jim Rosso. The middle shot was done by Edith Fullerton, of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.
The picture on the right demonstrates how easy it is to walk through a forest and miss the Barred Owl. (The owl is on the left side of the tree in the middle).
