American Magpie
(Pica hudsonia)
The American Magpie was photographed in California, the Magpie was photographed in London, England by Jim Rosso
Formerly named the Black-billed Magpie but recently it has been split from the European species and made into a separate species (See below on the right.). See Naming Birds.

The American Magpie is found throughout the western United States while the Yellow-billed Magpie is found only in the Central Valley of California.
