Black-bellied Plover	(Pluvialis squatarola)
Photographed in April in Monterey, California by Jim Rosso	The bird on the left is in full spring plumage. The flock of flying plovers show the variety of plumage that the birds have in April as they go from winter to spring plumage. Some of the birds are completely in winter plumage but most have a combination of winter and spring plumage.
