A Trip Report - Costa Rica February 8 to the 17, 2013

Grove billed Ani

A very exciting time was spent in Puerto Viejo, on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. Being a photographer in tropical jungle is a challenge. Just photographing through the density of vegetation is a gamble. In order to photograph the hummingbird I just had to shoot a lot hoping that a couple of shots would work. But the experience of sitting on our balcony in the morning eating breakfast in between photographing the Kiskadees and the Hummingbirds and watching the Common Black Hawk and Green Kingfisher was truly remarkable. To say the least of being able to once again hear a Barn Owl celebrate the night. Something I used to be able to listen to in the US.
