House Sparrow

Pictures below show a sudden birth and flight of winged termites. In picture 1 many hundreds of termites are exiting a tree stump and flying off (picture 2). Despite the number of birds in the area the only species that came to investigate and feed was a few House Sparrows (picture 3). Fifteen minutes after the start the termites have all exited the stump and there is no longer any sign of them and the House Sparrows are looking in other places for food.
